Iron Melts [Rhodes Improvisation + Visualizer]

My home studio has evolved through 5 different homes over the course of my 20s, and after all that time I've built out a near perfect system for my workflow. A system that allows me to record all of my instruments simultaneously for however long I want. I jump between ideas very quickly and I usually struggle to replicate my musical scribbles from memory so giving myself the freedom to move about my space without having to patch stuff in has been incredibly freeing. I now have many hours of dated recordings that I save for moments when I need creative inspiration.

At another random point in time within the same month, I took out my Panasonic AJ-D700P in an attempt to use the old broadcast camera to take a timelapse of the sunset. In true 3xCCD fashion, the colors are stunning. While experimenting with some speed ramping ideas I had found a section from one of those recordings that I caught replaying over and over.

BurriedRhodes

This is a gaussian splat of my Rhodes covered in music gac during a recent reorganization. I'll have to do a post on those soon. I have some fun experiments to show off.

What you're hearing is my Rhodes Mark II Stage 88 routed through a recently acquired Electro-Harmonix Platform compressor and an ELI SL-4545 delay. While my intention during the time of recording was to test the compressor pedal, I can't help adding the ELI to lull me into a dreamy pool of warble sonic heaven.
